The official answer

Direct quote from the Official Launch FAQ (Steam announcement, July 24, 2026): 'No, there won't be a pre-download available. You'll be able to download the game as soon as it officially launches.' The launch moment is July 30, 2026 at 01:00 UTC — the evening of July 29 in the Americas (see our unlock-time page for every region).

What to do instead of preloading

Free the disk space in advance — the download size has not been announced, so leave comfortable headroom on an SSD (the FAQ officially recommends installing on an SSD for the best experience).

Official minimum specs: Windows 10 64-bit, 12GB RAM, Intel Core i7-4770 / AMD Ryzen 5 1400, NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD RX 580, DirectX 12. Recommended: 16GB RAM, i7-9700 / Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2070 / RX 5700 XT.

If your store account is registered in the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, you'll get the North American build automatically and play on the US servers — that's an official compliance restriction.
