info gathered 2026-06-14Pick a forgiving class first
Start on a sturdy melee class like the Mercenary while you learn the maps and the extraction loop, then branch out.
Bank loot early — death drops everything you carry
Die in the field and you lose the gear you are carrying; only what is banked in your warehouse stash is safe. Extract and bank often instead of greeding one more fight.
Learn to dodge
Combat is Souls-like and punishes greed; beta players stress that dodging — especially against elite monsters — is mandatory.
Find the Returner Woodling to leave
You cannot extract until you beat a Returner Woodling for the Soul of Return, so locating it is part of every run.
Do not over-extend before the mist closes
The Gyldenmist closes in and funnels players together; keep an escape route and do not get caught deep when it shrinks.
Common beginner mistakes
- Hoarding gear and dying full — you lose it all. Bank before you push your luck.
- Ignoring the closing mist and getting cut off from extraction.
- Picking a high-skill class (Blackarrow) before you know the maps.
